A little bit of everything... From the circus to the Olympus

Hey crew,

I just read some amazing books and I had to let you know. Actually, I read a lot of books since I last posted a message; Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, The Host, The Hunger Games series, The Percy Jackson books and The Kane Chronicles books and they were good,  very entertaining books.

And then, I stumbled accross this book called, "The Next Queen of Heaven" by Gregory Maguire (author of "Wicked") and I liked this book a lot. It is nothing like his other work. I spent half the book ROFLMAO. I must say if you are sensitive to profanity, proceed with caution.

After that one, I decided to go ahead and read "The night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern; What a pleasure to read!!! I loved this book. This is one that I know I will read again, and again, and maybe again.

Now, I am reading, "Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters" by Jane Austen and Ben H. Winters and so far, so good. This is another one of the Quirk Classics.

Now, if there is anybody out there reading this message, and you know of a great book, please let me know... I am looking for the next one!!!

See ya!

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Hey people,
long time no see. I know, but the new year started with a lot of work and I am just now starting to get my rythm back with my reading.

So, I finished the book "Never let me go" and although it is beautifully written, and I really liked it, it broke my heart. It is a good book, really, but if you are not in the state of mind or in the mood for something heavy, then don’t read it at the moment.

After that one, I started to read "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies". I needed something light and maybe a little bit funny and this book is it!!! It is exactly what the title says: the novel "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen but with Zombies added to it. I am loving it!!!! Give it a shot. I was told that this book is in the works to become a movie so that is an extra incentive to read the book.

Well, I hope you are all having a great year so far. Take care and talk to you soon!

Books Shopping spree... Weeeee!

So, I finished re-reading the last book of the Harry Potter series and since I am almost done with "The girl who kicked the hornet's nest" I went on a books shopping spree. Here is what I got:
  • Hold Still by Nina LaCour -  My best friend recommended this one, so I got it.
  • The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine M.D - Don' ask...
  • Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen, of course and Seth Grahame-Smith - There are a some classic novels that have been, shall we say, decorated a little with vampires and zombies and other wacky stuff. This is one of them... This should be interesting.
  •  The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan - I read the Percy Jackson series and I liked it so I am giving this one a try... I'll let you know.
Well, there it is. This should keep me busy for some time. Let me know if you've read any of these and what you thought of it.

see ya.

Hey people, Welcome to my book club!

When I was in elemantary school I entered a reading contest and I guess I'm still in it because I never stopped reading afterwards. I LOVEEEEE to read. I am always reading one, or two books at a time. I've learned so much and visited so many places just by turning a page... And, don't even get me started on all the emotions I experienced while reading a book. I can go from laughing my pants off to crying histerically to be enraged. It's so awesome!

Anyway, I hope we can talk books here and you can give suggestions for what to read next =)

Thanks for visiting, y'all. Now, let's read...

Currently, I am reading:
  • The third book in Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest and
  • the last book of the Harry Potter's series, again, since I'm going to go see the movie soon and I wanted to refresh my memory.
Did you guys know that there are movies for the three book in the Millenium trilogy? Yeap, all three movies made in Sweden and the actress they chose to play the part of Lisbeth is really good. I understand the U.S. version of "The girl with the dragon tattoo" is currently beign filmed.
